The final step in Lugarno Football Club’s junior development is the U15-18 age bracket. Whilst not directly involved with our development programs, this age group will be supported by the club with a variety of different initiatives used to enhance a more age-appropriate development pathway for youth players.

Players in these teams will have their own coach who runs their own training sessions which is separate to the development programs' training.

The Technical Director will oversee and support these training sessions as needed on a regular basis.

Trials for positions in these Advanced Youth teams will take place in November 2025 as part of the club’s Development Trials for Season 2026. Open for all players to attend. Players are selected to be part of these Advanced teams after a multiple week trial selection process is conducted.

Players successful in gaining selection into these teams will receive a formal digital offer of acceptance which includes a code of conduct detailing the expectations of both players and parents. Players will also select their uniform sizing as part of the acceptance offer. The acceptance payment will cover off the Uniform for this team.

A player’s position in these teams is secured only when the code of conduct has been digitally accepted by the player and his parent together with the payment of the acceptance fee (illustrated in the costs section below).

The required training commitment is twice a week starting in early February and continuing that way until the completion of the regular season.

Training

Players in these Advanced teams will participate in more age-appropriate training, with a focus on tactical and positional play within their own teams, complimented by occasional squad-based training with other Advanced teams in this age group to align to a common playing style.

They will have an appointed coach who runs their training sessions separate to the development programs' training.

The Club Technical Director will also have some direct involvement with these teams over-seeing and supporting some of the training on a regular basis.

Other initiatives for consideration for this age group include:

  • A remunerated accredited coach to run training and match day, separate to the Technical Director.
  • Mentorship and opportunities to advance to the Premier League competition.
  • Progression reports.

Supporting Details

Cost - $200 Acceptance Fee ($150 after Active Kids Voucher) + FSG Registration Costs.

Coach/Manager Selections – Once teams have been selected, the Technical Director and club representatives will select a Coach and Manager for each of the Advanced teams in this age group. The Coach and/or Manager will have the responsibility of running training sessions for their respective team with support provided by the Technical Director. The Coach and/or Manager will also manage the team on match day.

Disclaimers –

  • All selected teams in this age group will be submitted as Advanced teams playing in the Advanced (or highest equivalent grade) competition within the Football St.George Association.
  • FSG Registration costs are unknown until such time that FSG notifies Lugarno FC of registration fees for the 2026 season.
